Things to do in Mykonos

Whitewashed lanes, windmills and the Aegean’s best beaches

A favourite for honeymoons

Mykonos pairs a pretty Cycladic old town — white lanes, the iconic windmills and the waterfront of Little Venice — with glamorous beach clubs and famous nightlife. It’s also the jump-off for the sacred ancient island of Delos. Two or three days; a short flight or ferry from Athens.

Glamorous and romantic — white-lane strolls, Little Venice sunsets and beach-club days for two.

Mykonos tips

  • Pre-book beach clubs and dinners in peak season — the popular ones fill up.
  • Delos closes on Mondays and the boat doesn’t run in rough weather — check before planning.
  • Mykonos is pricey; ferries and self-catering stays soften the cost.
