Its UNESCO-listed centre is a maze of Christian, Jewish and Muslim heritage — the “City of Three Cultures” — crowned by a vast cathedral and the home of the painter El Greco.

  • Cross the river to the Mirador del Valle (or take a taxi) for the postcard view of the whole city.
