How to get to Seville
From Madrid it’s ~2.5h by high-speed AVE train straight into the centre. Seville is flat and walkable; the historic core is best on foot.
Best time to visit
March–May and September–October — warm and in bloom. Summer is brutally hot (40°C+); the April feria and Semana Santa are spectacular but packed.
Seville tips
- Book Alcázar and cathedral tickets online to skip queues that can run an hour.
- Walk or cycle — the centre is flat and largely pedestrian; a car is a hindrance.
- Eat late like the locals; dinner before 9pm marks you out as a tourist.
