Things to do in Bukhara
A living Silk Road city of minarets, madrasas and trading domes
Bukhara is the most complete medieval city on the Silk Road — a walkable old town of minarets, madrasas, covered bazaars and a great fortress, much of it little changed in centuries. Quieter and more intimate than Samarkand, it pairs perfectly with it on a Silk Road route, and its ensemble of ancient centres of learning makes it irresistible for lovers of history and old scholarship.
