How to get to Angkor Wat
The park entrance is about 6km from Siem Reap — most visitors hire a tuk-tuk driver (via PassApp/Grab or their hotel) for a full day, or join a guided tour. Buy passes (1/3/7-day) at the official ticket office or online; bring your passport.
Best time to visit
November–March is cool and dry — the best time. Go at sunrise for cooler temperatures and the iconic light; the green wet season (June–October) is quieter and dramatic.
Angkor Wat tips
- Buy your Angkor pass at the official ticket office or online — never from street touts.
- Cover shoulders and knees — it’s enforced, especially at Angkor Wat’s upper level.
- Start at sunrise and carry water, sunscreen and small notes for drinks and tips.
