About Taipei Pride

An annual Pride march and festival, typically starting and finishing around Taipei City Hall, with stages, stalls and a huge, welcoming crowd. It’s a landmark event for the whole of Asia, reflecting Taiwan’s status as the continent’s most LGBTQ+-progressive society.

The parade winds through central Taipei, while the year-round scene centres on Ximending — the youth-and-nightlife district whose Red House plaza is ringed by open-air gay bars. The combination of a massive Pride and a relaxed, marriage-equality society makes Taipei uniquely welcoming for Asia.
