Best time to visit Fiji — FAQs

When is the best time to visit Fiji?

The dry season, May to October — warm, sunny and less humid, with the calmest seas for diving, snorkelling and island-hopping. July–August is the busiest stretch.

When is Fiji’s cyclone season?

The wet season, roughly November to April, carries a tropical-cyclone risk that peaks December–March. Resorts monitor and plan for it, but if you travel then, keep an eye on advisories and consider travel insurance.

What is the cheapest time to visit Fiji?

The wet season (November–April), outside the Christmas/New Year spike, is the cheapest and quietest — greener and still often sunny between showers, in exchange for higher humidity and storm risk.

Is the wet season a bad time to visit Fiji?

Not necessarily — it’s green, quiet and cheaper, and rain often comes in short bursts. The trade-offs are higher humidity and a cyclone risk (peaking Dec–March), so it suits flexible, budget-minded travellers.
